Modern Foreign Languages

Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures.  At Highfield our chosen Modern Foreign Language is French.

In Key Stage One parents may pay for their children to have extra curricular French lessons which are delivered at lunchtimes by Le Jolie Ronde French School.  Children also follow a mini scheme of work which runs alongside the topic in their classroom to begin to introduce them to French vocabulary.

In Key Stage Two we follow the National Curriculum programme of study and children learn French in their classes regularly. We use La Jolie Ronde French scheme of work and workbooks which run alongside the scheme.
